Great South encompasses the Regional Tourism Organisations (RTO) for Southland and Fiordland, two of New Zealand’s 31 RTOs and two of New Zealand's most captivating destinations.
Collaborative Tourism & Destination Marketing
Great South's commitment extends beyond economic development. We actively engage in destination marketing initiatives to showcase the unique offerings of Southland and Fiordland to a national and global audience. Campaigns such as ‘You’re Due South’ and the internationally acclaimed ‘Te Anau Time’. Additionally, we empower tourism businesses to create exceptional and sustainable visitor (and resident) experiences which are managed on our destination websites and featured regularly through media partnerships and advertising. This collaborative effort is achieved through close partnerships with the tourism industry, key regional and national stakeholders, and Tourism New Zealand, the National Tourism Organisation. Notably, we maintain a strong working relationship with Air New Zealand and other regional stakeholders.
Great South's RTOs, Visit Southland and Visit Fiordland, lead the regional marketing initiatives for Murihiku Southland. We are committed to ongoing discussions and collaboration with all partners to refine and strengthen our regional brand for the future.
